Tribeca With Kids

Parents: The Wonder is here to make your weekends (and weekdays) easier. TriBeCa's latest hotspot, which was founded by Sarah Robinson and Noria Morales, is an immersive space that provides activities for recreation, fostering creativity, and human connection for parents and children alike.

The members-only space boasts amenities such a play-all-day Playspace, filled with light and designed to change themes seasonly; the lounge, a gathering space where kids can play and parents can gather; the cafe, which has an all-day menu to suit parents and children alike, as well as a coffee and liquor bar. Also on the list: a grown-ups only workspace, for when an email just can't wait, a daily story time with the "reading ninja," classrooms meant for hosting workshops, events, and classes, stocked with everything you could need for a good crafting session, a nursery for changing, cuddling, and feeding your young ones—or pumping, should you need the option.

Possibly the most luxe part, though, is the Stroller Detailing center, which much like having your car detailed, handles the icky part of toting around your kinds, prior to stowing it away.

CMO and co-founder Noria Morales explains the ultimate goal of the space, "The Wonder's mission is to make quality time the best time. The reality is you can't go to the park everyday, you don't always have the energy to plan a trip to the science museum, and sometimes, you just want to hang with your friends while your kids play. The Wonder is a place where the entire family can have meaningful and memorable time together."

And in keeping with their own ethos of inspiring more play, less worry, and the creation of wonder for the littlest of people, The Wonder has launched their Fall 2019 theme; Heroes + Villains. Better still: to truly get into the festive Halloween spirit, the Wonder is encouraging all members and attendees to wear costumes—even the parents, who they are cleverly enticing by offering free drinks to those who dress up when they stop by.

On the Heroes + Villains Fall 2019 season, CEO and co-founder Sarah Robinson tells T&C, "When we were thinking about our next theme, it was hard to ignore the allure of the nostalgic comic book characters from our own childhoods and the modern superheroes our kids love. Superheroes transcend age, gender, and human ability—leaving the fantasy of becoming one something that is accessible to literally anyone!"

To accomplish this feat, The Wonder partnered with The Factory NYC and Figment to design the space with pop art style neon signs, classic comic strip lined walls, and even capes to make every kid feel like a real life hero.

"The designers pulled inspiration from the classic superhero comics, Wes Anderson movies, and the science fiction genre to create a graphic, bold and whimsical space," Robinson adds.
